Muslimahs Refuse "Naked" Full Body Scan at Airport

Two Muslim women have become the first passengers to refuse to subject themselves to controversial 'naked' full body airport scans, it emerged today.

The pair - who security officials insist were selected at random - opted to miss their flight to Pakistan and forfeit tickets worth £400 each rather than be screened.

One of the women refused to go through the full-body scanner at Manchester Airport on religious grounds while her companion also declined for 'medical reasons'.

The women were travelling together to Islamabad when they were selected to pass through the controversial security screen after checking-in at Terminal Two at the airport.

An estimated 15,000 people have already passed through the scanners, with the pair the first passengers to refuse a scan.

Both told airport staff they were not willing to be scanned. They were warned they would not be allowed to board the Pakistan International Airlines flight if they refused.

The pair decided they would rather forfeit their £400 tickets and left the airport with their luggage.

The £80,000 scanners were introduced at Heathrow and Manchester airports on February 5.

The X-ray machines allow security staff to see a 'naked' image of passengers to show up hidden weapons and explosives, but it has attracted criticism for also showing clear outlines of passengers' genitals.

Manchester Airport confirmed the passengers had refused to be scanned but said it had received no complaint from the women.

However, civil liberties campaigners say the incident could form the basis of a legal test case to challenge the use of the Rapiscan device in airports.

Last month, Transport Secretary Lord Adonis stressed that an interim code of practice on the use of body scanners stipulated that passengers would not be selected 'on the basis of personal characteristics'.

Two weeks ago, a week after the scanners were introduced at Manchester and Heathrow airports, Islamic scholars in the U.S. said Muslim travellers should not pass through the scanners because they violate religious rules on nudity.

The Fiqh Council of North America issued a fatwa, or religious ruling, warning Muslims not to go through the scanners.

‘It is a violation of clear Islamic teachings that men or women be seen naked by other men and women,’ read the order.

‘Islam highly emphasises haya (modesty) and considers it part of faith. The Quran has commanded the believers, both men and women, to cover their private parts.'

In the U.S., there are now 40 scanners in 19 airports and could be as many as 450 by the end of the year.

The powerful council of ten scholars that issued the fatwa is affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America.

  1. Wow I didn't know they actually had those yet! I can see a lot of non muslim women refusing on the grounds of modesty as well. They should definitely make sure only women view the women's scans and men the men's. I wouldn't go through unless I was a 100% sure a woman was on the other end....and even then it would still be horribly embarrassing and awkward. Not to mention a violation of privacy.

  2. I wouldn't go through them and I know a women in Wales who feels stuck because she feels the same way. In the US, they're saying that people can opt-out and take a full body pat-down if they're not comfortable with the scanners...I don't really understand why the UK doesn't have the same rules.

  3. I am against the scan and I really respect them for refusing to do it. The only reason I'd take a plane would be to go to Egypt to visit my huband's family (my daughter's grand parents) and so I would eventually just take it so I could get on the plane. The trip not something I could easily afford and I wouldn't want to disappoint my mother in law either, who has yet only met her grand-daughter once because of the distance.

Noor the Ninjabi: I don't find a full body pat-down sounds any better! :S

  4. @Candice, it's pretty standard procedure if one wears an abaya or hijab. At the very least, they feel up your hair. It's not a huge deal and the women who do it are extremely respectful about 90% of the time.

  5. I'd rather get patted or get a woman or man to see the outline of my genitals thank you very much. So many people are against it here in Canada. Mann and I LOVE traveling too :(.....

You mean not everyone had to go through the screen?? And isn't interesting that the 2 women selected were travelling together? Hmmm...
Good for those 2 women! May Allah reward them greatly for their strength and for standing by their principles. Ameen.

  7. As Salamu Alaikum,

I travel regularly both domestic and international. I am a hijabi with jilbab and everything. They always pick me out at security, they offer the scan, or offer a private room with two female security officers. I usually pick the room depending on how close it is to flight time.

Really it is sad that the sisters were not given this option. If the scan was the only option then I would take it and continue with my trip.

If the security agent looks at my genitals with lust, then the sin is on them. I mean, how is this any different than a doctor visit? If I have to see a male specialist and they need to see my body, then it is ok because this is a medical need. Going through the scan is a security need and I am willing to comply.

We have to remember the world we live in. Muslims flew planes into buildings, this will not be soon forgotten and we have to expect to be singled out.

True the sin is on that person, but we are suppose to be modest women and men. How can we be modest when you can see my everything as if I was naked on a screen? However when I have traveled recently in the states I was pat down around my head and went through a metal detector. So for me the female security person was nice and went even further to say that the extra security measure was uncalled for.

So come on, they know what they are doing, they are singling out every muslim man and woman. The sad part is my mother didn't want me to help her into the airport, because she would be seen with me but she on a cane and can't walk far through the airport and need a wheelchair; even though I wasnt even travelling with her. That's a personal issue, but I personally never care what one thinks when it comes to my religion and me covering. I wear a black overhead abaya and niqab in the deep south, so I have people looking at me all the time, I can't stop my life because they have the issues! So if this is putting fear into people at this rate then how can you expect anyone to understand that you have religous needs and modesty concerns. They just don't care. No one cares that I'm an American or that my entire family is here due to slavery issues over 400 years ago and that everyone else in my family is christian. They just know you Muslim and that's all they see at the end of the day. You have to do what Allah SWT says and not what the "MAN" says that goes AGAINST your religion. Nude body scanners are so against our religion till it's not even funny. If you just have to travel to the uk or through the uk then I guess you need to find a private airplane and private airport so you dont have to worry about your private parts being up on a screen.

  9. People, this is no Joke. To all brothers and sisters out there, these scans emit t-rays which will destroy your DNAs causing problem with replication of your DNA. This is literally an attack on humanity. T-rays are call Tetrahertz rays which are very dangerous to our body. Try to avoid these, the goal is depopulation. When our DNA are screwed up we are not able to see the crimes they are committing against us. This is exactly how their vaccines work too. Be awake and stay awake. Wake up people. Yes pick the room over the scan anytime. GO to http:www.theflucase.com website and you will learn a lot as to what is going on. They are after your body and they will do whatever it takes to gain access to your body. Peace to all and keep your eyes, mind open.

  10. Airport body scanners emit T-rays that attack human DNA

The new airport scanners emit not X-rays, but little tested T-rays, or THz waves (terahertz waves), which can tear apart human DNA, scientists say.

Scientist Boian Alexandrov has said that T-rays can "unzip" DNA strands, tearing them apart, thus creating bubbles in the strands that significantly interfere with gene expression and DNA replication.

The nanoparticles in the pandemic vaccines such as GlaxoSmithKline's, Pandemrix, also appear to be designed to attack human DNA.

It has been reported anecdotally that several pregnant women operating the body scanners at Heathrow airport have already lost their babies.

This is a report by J. Speer- Williams on the potential impact on our DNA of the new airport scanners implemented after the so called "underwear bomber" incident, which appears to be another contrived operation because the "bomber" was escorted onto the plane in The Netherlands at Christmas by FBI agents.

Crotch Bomber Kicks Off Massive DNA Destruction!
    By J. Speer-Williams
    1-7-10

Metaphysicians tell us that an individual's DNA composition approximates one's consciousness, and vice versa: One's consciousness determines one's DNA structure. Attack one, you attack the other. Improve one and you improve the other.

Mainstream Doctors Fritz-Albert Popp and Bruce Lipton both tell us that our DNA appears to be the vital link between our physicality and spirituality. Dr. Popp, founder of the International Institute of Biophysics, at Neuss, Germany, and Dr. Lipton, of the University of Wisconsin, both confirm that modern science now realizes and recognizes that our DNA structures directly reflect our consciousness, making it possible for us to willfully activate what science formerly called "junk" DNA, by increasing our individual consciousnesses.

  11. continuation of article

By activating dormant DNA, one would likely be able to perceive life beyond their five physical senses of sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell; and one's world of spiritual intuition, discernment, judgment, and wisdom begin to develop.

The more we learn about the negative intentions of the dark forces of our world, the more we wake up spiritually, and the more our "junk" DNA activates, if we are not overcome with negativity and fear ourselves. Fear blocks any possible expansion of consciousness, which explains the constant fear-mongering promoted by the International Monetary/Banking Cartel's corporate media, resulting in the severe stunting of our universal consciousness.

The Cartel's silent, soft-kill weapons of mass DNA destruction are all around us. Depleting uranium, chemtrails, street and pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines, genetically modified foods, fluorides, aspartame, psychotropics, and now naked body scanners are used against us for a very basic reason: To keep us from waking up to their crimes by damaging our DNA.

The Cartel's latest cloaked attack against mankind are their so-called Backscatter X-ray Machines, that expose the naked bodies of children, women and men at busy airport security portals; all based on the flimsy ploy of simply one "crotch bomber" at Christmas time of '09 in Detroit. Now suddenly, these Backscatter machines will be showing up at over 125 US airports.

These virtual strip searches, in addition to damaging our DNA, will be setting the stage for the expansion of our world-wide cancer epidemic. Any amount of radiation is dangerous, as it is cumulative, and poses a serious threat to all living cells through which it passes, leaving behind a trail of destruction and genetic mutations.

The Backscatter doesn't actually emit X-rays, but little tested T-rays, or THz waves (terahertz waves), which is radiation that is positioned between microwaves and infrared rays on the electromagnetic spectrum. And as would be expected, the Cartel's scientists and corporate media have ensured that whether or not T-rays severely damage biological systems is to be a controversial subject: this is the usual Cartel stratagem whenever their agenda is on shaky grounds.

Boian Aleandrov, of the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los alamos National Laboratory, however, has a very decided opinion regarding the dangers of T-rays: He tells us that T-rays tear apart human DNA.

Alexandrov, and his team at Los alamos, say that although the forces that T-rays exert are small, their resonant effects can "unzip" DNA strands, tearing them apart, thus creating bubbles in the strands that significantly interfere with gene expression and DNA replication. And whatever that means, it doesn't sound good.

Moreover, it seems these T-ray scanners will be operated by non-healthcare, hourly wage-earners, not trained in radiation medicine or imaging. And who is to prevent massive radiation overdoses? What protection will be offered to pregnant women, children, or our reproductive organs?

If you are like me, it's beginning to appear obvious that some power has far more interest in damaging our DNAs, than keeping us safe while flying.
