Alhamdulilah wearing niqab is beautiful and can truly be a test during the summer especially with the sizzling temperatures. On top of that the sun is out in full effect and can be a serious force to be reckoned with. It's not often that you see sisters rocking their shades when they wear niqab. So the question is should you wear shades/sunglasses with niqab?
Trendy white and gold shades
Tortoise Shades
Brown Shades
***all brown niqabs not intentional but super cute***
So what do you ladies think? Do you think it looks crazy but you have to do what you have to do? Do you totally love it and would rock it? Is it not for you but you think it's cute? Does it depend on what type of shades you wear? Does it depend on the color of the niqab?
ROCK IT OR STOP IT?
COMMENT AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK
Asalaamu alaikum
Nadira & Najwa
Ukhtee, As Salaamu Alaykum, you are sooo sooo so cute in niqaab ... but ... I think the shades with it looks a little (what's the word?) uhm, in disquise.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you look with niaab without the shades ... and I like when sisters where hijaab with shades.
That's just me though. On the other hand, if you are trying to steer clear of the evil eye that people give, then, YES! ... rick your shades ... but if for fashion, then no.
May Allah protect you ... Ameen
Salams!
ReplyDeleteTruthfully, I think it looks a little nuts but so what? It's sunny and you have to protect your eyes! Rock it!
May Allah bless you!!!
As Salaam Alaikum, I think you should rock it. You are an inspiration to Muslimahs everywhere. You are modest with style.Sometimes Muslim women seem to think that the more homely they look that thats more righteous. That is soo not true.
ReplyDeleteAsalamu Alaikum sis, If you need to protect your eyes from the sun then why not? For me as a Niqabi, I dont do it, i never wore sunglasses even when I was Hijabi so I dont with Niqab but wearing Niqab is no exception to protection from the harsh sun! :)
ReplyDeleteMay Allah protect you! :)
Girl the shade with niqab is ok mashallah there is nothing wrong with that, in a matter of fact i would say it is more modest cause it even covers the eyes and sometimes the sun can be a little strong on the eyes so just because you wear a niqab you should not wear shades i think you should, i would what is that a big sin or something please sister you good no big deal rock that!
ReplyDeleteSalams sisters i think it depends on the person,i don't wear niqab but for me i like it i think its fine...and that's funny because i was just thinking about this the other day ROCK IT :)
ReplyDeleteI wear half niqabs outside and because of the condition of my eyes I have no choice but to wear shades! I wear the niqab outside not just for modest but for sun protection and to keep allergens from going up my nose and in my nouth...allergies are majorly bad this year! alhamdulilah I got a buhcn of half niqabs delivered today!
ReplyDeleteRock it Chica! Alhamdulilah~
ReplyDeleteI dig it, and I especially like the shape of the last ones with the niqab. It seems the more rectangle-ish ones look better to me. The second pic comes next.
ReplyDeletehonestly, I think every hijabi/niqabi should have a good pair of shades.
Oh and where did you get the colored niqab with the extra wide slit? They are so hard to find, lol.
ReplyDeleteSalaams
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on how it's styled. Super big sunglasses with the narrow slits don't really look good, but wider slits and not-so-huge sunglasses can look cute. It also depends on whether the colours match.
Asa , what ever you feel in your heart , just go with the flow. Sunglasses are obviously there to protect your eyes from the sun, so as long as its helping you and you feel comfortable, then why not .... I think its kind nice and end of the day it depends how you style it dont make the sungasses look to big on your face just nice small basic ones that fit the area of the niqab lol .
ReplyDeleteI think if you are in a place where there aren't a lot of Muslims/munaqabas, then you'll probably look really weird to most people, but hey, sometimes you just need to wear sunglasses!!!
ReplyDeleteAs long as you are outside, the sunglasses will at least make sense -- one time I was in a shopping mall and I say a munaqaba who was wearing gigantic sunglasses, and it looked REALLY weird because we were inside and it was definitely NOT sunny lol
Rock ittttt..... =)
ReplyDeleteI like =)
I have to say, the shades with niqab look a little odd... but on the other hand not wearing shades in the sun can cause a lot of damage. Since health comes first, I say go for it.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I don't know! I think rock it because the sun is blazin during the summer season! You are right you gotta do what you gotta do! I think it depends in the color of niqab. I would not wear a black niqab with black shades (sister looks like shes ready to rob a bank! lol!) instead pairing it with the pink looked cute! <3
ReplyDeleteI say ROCk It,If its not haram and you like the style. why not. When its dark outside then dont rock it.Its not cool to wear sunglasses and the moon is out.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't rock it. I was never into sunglasses at all. I think the draw attention to myself. But if your comfortable with it than go for it inshallah :)
ReplyDeleteI think that wearing the sunglasses with the niqab is not cute. When you wear the niqab that means that you are on your deen tough. Also the sunglasses doesnt show modesty that will make you stand out.
ReplyDeleteDo not rock it. It doesnt show modesty and you will be standing out tough. We are muslim women and we must always show our modesty in actions and the way you dress. I feel if you want to protect your eyes then wear the burka. If I was a man I wouldnt want my wife to wear them.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about large sunglasses and niqab. They look like bug eyes. What about smaller, more squared-off sunglasses in colors that match the niqab?
ReplyDeleteSalaams...Stop It. It looks really off to me. Who cares about people staring but they would not stare because of Niqaab, they would stare at the sunglasses with it. Doesn't look right.
ReplyDeleteSTOP IT, lol. i had a friend in egypt who wore sunglasses a few times with her niqab, and we would just laugh the whole time; because she knew she looked ridiculous, and..... well i concurred, lol. I think it looks funny, but if you want to do it on sunny days, then forget what anybody thinks! do you!!
ReplyDeletebut have u ever considered trying the layered niqabs with the the thin piece to cover ur eyes? that may help with the sun. :)
Rock it!!! sis. Those eyes are precious and the sun will steal your sight if you expose your eyes too much Wallahu Alim
ReplyDeletethe only ones who are going to be ridiculing you are the one that don't really matter any way. The ones that love you are going to be like, you look good and you protecting your modesty. I wear my shades with my niqab. My eyes are bad enough I dont want them to get exposed to the suns rays, as it is proven that this could cause damage to your eye sight Wallahu Alim
ReplyDeleteI am a bad person to give an opinion on this as I'm brand new to Islam, but I don't see a problem with it. I'm a fan of being practical, and if it keeps the sun out of your eyes, go with it. It's better to have healthy eyesight.
ReplyDeleteI personally think shades w/ niqab looks quite funny. But the second picture of the tortoise shades and brown veil does work. So I guess it really depends on the style of everything that you are wearing. But personally I'd STOP IT.
ReplyDeleteStop it! A modest muslimah is one who protects herself from unwanted attention and gazing from men. without a doubt non mahram will look at the niqabi with sunglasses as its not modest.sisters keep away from these things and struggle and strive to be on the path
ReplyDeletesalam, it looks really cool, stylish and modest, definitely rock it
ReplyDeleteShalom. I am a non-Muslim with a sun allergy, who has been looking at hijab and niqab for ideas on how cover myself in a tasteful manner. I've wrestled with the face-covering and sun-glasses too, as I do think they look a little odd. I find a big floppy hat tends to look a little better, in my opinion, but sometimes you just need sun-glasses to best protect yourself. And even without the sun-glasses, a lot of people think I look weird already in my "get-up".
ReplyDeleteAs salaamu alaykum sis...sis I say rock it"!!!
